Google Releases the Starter Guide to Search Engine Optimization
On Wednesday, Google posted the offering of a Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide on the Webmaster Central Blog. The 22 page PDF is designed to help webmasters improve their site’s user experience and organic search engine ranking using SEO best practices.
Google covers the basics including titles, headings, anchor text, navigation, nofollow tags, and web analytics.
While this search engine optimization guide isn’t earth shattering, it does nicely summarize the SEO basics that all websites should be using. Google states that “search engine optimization is often about making small modifications to parts of your website…when combined…could have a noticable impact on your site’s user experience and performance in organic search results.”
In the coming days, I’ll be writing about each section of the SEO guide, elaborating on some of the practices and offering some insight as to how Metter Advertising uses these practices in performing SEO for our B2B clients.
